- You can move over to higher paying columns on our salary schedule by earning university credits.
- The CTA University Credit Program is a benefit to members attending CTA Conferences during the school year.
- CTA members, through attending in-person or watching CTA Virtual Pass sessions, can accumulate the professional growth hours needed to qualify for university credit units with CSU, Chico.
- Professional growth hours can be accumulated by attending conferences live and/or by watching records.

Q: How do I pay for my health insurance benefits?
- CUTA unit members pay for their health insurance benefits using their CUSD contribution, currently $1,434 per month, per member.
- CUTA unit members who choose a medical plan priced less than the CUSD contribution (currently $1,434 per month, per member) shall have the difference added to their monthly paycheck.
- CUTA unit members who choose a medical plan priced more than the CUSD contribution (currently $1,434 per month, per member) shall have the difference deducted from their monthly paycheck.
- Whenever a negotiated raise in compensation is reached between CUTA and CUSD, the district contribution to health benefits increases by the same percentage as the raise.
Q: What happens if I am called back to my classroom because my prep time provider’s sub does not show up?
- If you are called back to your classroom during your scheduled prep time, you will be paid at your hourly rate.
- Fill out a time card provided by your office manager for your missed prep time and submit it to your office manager.
Q: How many sick days do I receive each year?
- Full-time CUTA members receive 10 days of sick leave per year.
- Unused sick days carry over to the next year.
- In any given year, you can use up to 6 of your accumulated sick days as Personal Necessity (no tell) days.
- At retirement, your unused sick leave is converted to additional service credit.
