Scholarships
Each year, CUTA awards $16,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors, a teacher credential candidate, and a CUTA member seeking continuing education. Click on the name of the scholarship to access the application. You can print out an application or choose "Make a Copy" in the file menu to type your application.
Dependents of CUTA Members - Any graduating high school senior whose parent(s) is currently an active member of CUTA is eligible to apply for a Dependent Scholarship. It is not necessary that the recipient be graduating from a CUSD high school. The money for these scholarships is annually budgeted from our CUTA funds. Two $1,500 scholarships are available and the recipients are selected by our CUTA Scholarship Committee. Completed applications for CUTA dependent scholarships must be returned to the CUTA office by 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2021. Applications not submitted to the CUTA office by that time and date cannot be considered for receipt of a scholarship.
CUSD Graduating Seniors -These “at large” scholarships are available to any graduating senior in CUSD, including dependents of CUTA members. Chico High and Pleasant Valley High each receive three scholarships. Fairview receives one of these scholarships. These are each $1,500. Completed applications for the CUSD Graduating Seniors “at large” Scholarships can be returned to the school’s respective counseling office by March 12, 2021 by 5:00 p.m.
CUTA Member CE Scholarship - We also award a scholarship to any CUTA member who is continuing his/her education. Applications for this scholarship can be found at chicouta.org under the CUTA Related Forms link, or they can be picked up at the CUTA office. This scholarship is $1,000. The applications are due by 5:00 p.m. March 12, 2021 to the CUTA office.
CUTA Member Dependent Teaching Credential Candidate Scholarship - Finally, we also award a scholarship of $1,500 to any CUTA member dependent who is entering or is enrolled in a teaching credential program. The applications are due by 5:00 p.m. March 12, 2021 to the CUTA office.
